A Humble Beginning
in Sri Rangam

In 2010, Amuthu Veg Restaurant began as a small tiffin stall just steps away from the magnificent Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple gopuram. Our founder, inspired by the temple's tradition of offering pure, sattvic food to pilgrims, set out to create a place where every meal felt like a blessing.

What started with just three items on the menu — idli, dosa, and filter coffee — has grown into a beloved institution serving over 5,000 guests every month. Our recipes are rooted in Tamil Nadu's temple kitchen traditions, passed down through generations of temple cooks and refined over 15 years of daily practice.

Every dish we serve is 100% pure vegetarian, prepared without onion or garlic on auspicious days, and always made fresh from locally sourced ingredients and pure cow ghee. We don't just serve food — we serve devotion.

Our Core Values

Freshness First

Every ingredient is sourced fresh daily from local farmers and markets. Nothing is pre-made or stored overnight. If it isn't fresh, it isn't served.

Pure & Sattvic

We follow the ancient principle of sattvic cooking — food that nourishes the mind and body. Pure ghee, no artificial flavours, and mindful preparation in every dish.

Temple Tradition

Our cooking methods are inspired by the centuries-old traditions of Sri Rangam's temple kitchens. Every meal carries the spiritual heritage of this sacred land.

Community First

We source from local farmers, employ people from the neighbourhood, and actively participate in temple festivals and community events throughout the year.

Uncompromising Quality

From the quality of our ghee to the grind of our spices, we never cut corners. Our head chef personally approves every new recipe before it reaches your table.

Warm Hospitality

Every guest who walks through our doors is treated like family. The warmth of Tamilian hospitality — "Atithi Devo Bhava" — is at the heart of everything we do.
